I had to follow my career path, but I very much want to pick up where we left off.” His breathing evened out and skittered over Sam’s cheek. He tangled their legs together.

Sam swallowed past the lump of emotion in his throat and blinked back tears. “But you left me,” he murmured. “Don’t leave again.”
